Canalboats France Saone and Rhone

Hi!
Just purchased books from Amazon: Cruising French Waterways and Through the French Canals. Lived in France 3 years and thought it would be a fabulous way to reunite with old acquaintences. Anyone here have advice based on past experience with renting and places visited?
