Yet another newbie!!!!

topic posted Sat, May 13, 2006 - 7:12 PM by  kathleen
Wanting a simpler existence (now live on 34 acres) and am thinking a houseboat might be the way to go. Haven't had much luck looking online and after looking through postings it seems I need to cruise the marinas. Any marinas that might be better for exDeadhead, artsy-fartsy type? Are there any "houseboat" things I have to look out for or it is like buying a used car "buyer beware"?

Living on a sailboat is awesome. Make sure you've got a boat and the ability to live aboard before you dump everything into a liveaboard situation. You can kind of get away with living clandestinely if you're careful, but it's usually only a couple hundred more to not do this. Some marinas have waiting lists, tho, so make plans ahead of time.
